Jared Goff set to close bye week with appearance on ‘ManningCast’ during Chiefs vs. Commanders

Jared Goff will wrap up his bye week by joining the “ManningCast” broadcast during Monday Night Football’s matchup between the Kansas City Chiefs and Washington Commanders.

The Detroit Lions quarterback, who has already appeared twice on Monday night this season, will chat with Peyton and Eli Manning at some point during the first half of the ESPN2 telecast. The popular alternate broadcast features the Manning brothers offering live analysis, humorous banter, and interviews with various guests as they watch the game unfold.

Goff and the Lions faced the Chiefs just two weeks ago, so fans can expect plenty of Kansas City talk. Detroit will also visit Washington in two weeks for a rematch of last year’s divisional-round loss. While there was no “ManningCast” for the Lions’ recent Monday night win over Tampa Bay, the show did air during Detroit’s victory over Baltimore earlier this season. Goff previously joined head coach Dan Campbell for a comedic “ManningCast” audition skit two years ago, so he’s familiar with the tone and style of the program.

Coming off the bye, Goff and the Lions sit at 5-2, trailing the Green Bay Packers (5-1-1) in both the NFC North and overall conference standings. Goff has been remarkably efficient this year, ranking second in completion rate (74.9%), tied for fifth in touchdown passes (15), and third in passer rating (116.4). Oddsmakers currently list him sixth in MVP odds (+1800) after seven games.

Also joining the Mannings tonight is actor Billy Bob Thornton. The “ManningCast,” produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions—the same company behind Netflix’s Quarterback docuseries featuring Goff—will continue throughout the season. The Lions, however, are not slated for another Monday Night Football appearance in 2025.
