Matthew Stafford and his wife helped set up a FOX Sports personality.

Matthew Stafford has the Los Angeles Rams firmly in the playoff hunt this season, and his wife Kelly has been by his side the entire way. But the couple recently made an impact off the field too—by playing matchmaker for one of FOX Sports’ most recognizable personalities.

Charissa Thompson shared on her Calm Down podcast with Erin Andrews that her two-year romance with Los Angeles businessman Steven Cundari only began because the Staffords took it upon themselves to upgrade her love life. According to Thompson, Matt and Kelly told her they couldn’t stand watching her go on disastrous dates anymore and believed she deserved someone whose lifestyle and drive aligned with hers—especially given her constant travel around NFL cities.

The Staffords then introduced her to Cundari, even giving her what she jokingly described as a full scouting report before the meeting. After the introduction, everything clicked. Thompson said each phase of the relationship—from their first interactions to deeper conversations—felt right. She joked to Andrews that she now knows his Social Security number and bank details, which is when she realized the relationship was truly solid.

Cundari is well known in Los Angeles’ business circles as a marketing strategist, venture partner, and startup investor with a reputation for building disruptive consumer brands. His profile has grown even further thanks to his relationship with Thompson, who remains one of FOX Sports’ key NFL hosts, appearing across pregame coverage, interviews, and midweek segments.

Thompson recently posted the couple’s full game-day look during the Rams’ 21–19 victory over Seattle—a win that pushed Los Angeles to 8–2 and kept Stafford near the front of the NFL MVP race.

Statistically, Stafford’s 2025 season continues to stand out. He has thrown for 2,557 yards (sixth in the league), his 27 touchdown passes are the most of any quarterback, he has only two interceptions, and his 68.7 QBR ranks sixth.

Oddsmakers currently list Stafford as the MVP favorite at +135, ahead of Drake Maye (+175), Josh Allen (+450), Jonathan Taylor (+750), and Patrick Mahomes (+2000). Beyond football and matchmaking, the Staffords continue to support numerous causes through their charitable work.

Matt took part in the Rams’ annual Kickoff for Charity brunch this year, which brings together fans, players, and team legends. Meanwhile, Kelly remains involved with the SAY Detroit Play Center, continuing the commitment to families and children that she began during Stafford’s 12 years with the Detroit Lions.
