The Dallas Cowboys have spent the past three weeks clawing their way back into relevance, putting together enough momentum to revive their playoff hopes — and even keep a faint path toward an NFC East title alive.
Both goals remain difficult, but the team’s recent surge has created a wave of optimism heading into a pivotal Week 14 matchup with the Detroit Lions.
With each team fighting to stay in the postseason race, Thursday’s clash has all the ingredients of a December game with playoff intensity. And quarterback Dak Prescott says Dallas won’t be short on belief when it steps into Ford Field.
“We’re definitely confident — but we also know the focus has to be on what’s ahead, not what we’ve already done,” Prescott said. “Those past few games are over. The only things we take from them are the experience and the confidence they gave us. Now we’re facing another strong, playoff-caliber opponent that’s also trying to control its own destiny.
“We expect it to be a tough, four-quarter battle.”
Will Trevon Diggs Suit Up in Week 14?
The Cowboys’ latest injury report listed Trevon Diggs as a limited participant, his first encouraging sign after missing several games.
It’s still unclear whether the All-Pro cornerback will immediately return to Matt Eberflus’ defense, especially considering his extended absence and the recent emergence of Shavon Revel Jr. and DaRon Bland.
What is clear is that Diggs is working his way back. Whether he’s ready in time for Detroit remains unknown, but if he does suit up, it would give the Cowboys an important reinforcement as they push toward the postseason.
