Jared Goff says he excels at getting his baby daughter to laugh, but admits diaper duty isn’t his strong suit before the Lions’ Thanksgiving matchup.

Jared Goff will spend this Thanksgiving with a brand-new family member. The Detroit Lions quarterback and his wife, Christen Harper, became parents for the first time in July when they welcomed their daughter, Romy Isabelle.

Although Goff thrives on the football field, he admits he’s still getting the hang of fatherhood. During a November 21 interview with Will Reeve on Good Morning America, he shared that making his daughter laugh is one of his newfound talents. Diapers, however, are a different story. Goff joked that he leaves most of that duty to his wife, telling Reeve, “I’m not very good at it. She’s so great at changing diapers — I always encourage her to keep that streak going.”

Who is Christen Harper?

Goff met Christen, now 32, through a dating app back in 2019. At the time, she wasn’t planning on jumping into a new relationship. “I had just ended a long-term relationship and wanted a year to myself,” she told Sports Illustrated in 2022. “Then I met him, and everything changed.”
