CeeDee Lamb exits Lions matchup with a concussion; George Pickens unable to step up in his absence
Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb exited Thursday night’s matchup with the Detroit Lions after suffering a concussion and did not return. The injury occurred in the third quarter when he jumped for a catch and came down forcefully on the turf.
After the Cowboys’ 44–30 loss, offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer said he spoke with Lamb and confirmed that the receiver will enter the concussion protocol.
Before leaving the game, Lamb recorded six receptions for 121 yards, bringing his season totals to 57 catches, 865 yards, and three touchdowns.
With Lamb sidelined, George Pickens was unable to fill the void, finishing with just five catches on nine targets for 37 yards. According to Schottenheimer, the Lions shifted their coverage once Lamb was out: “As soon as CeeDee was gone, they started playing two-man and doubling him to take him out of the game.”
