Inside Matthew Stafford’s Home Life: His Wife, Kids, and Sweet Family Moments

As the Los Angeles Rams prepare for a high-stakes divisional round showdown against the Chicago Bears on January 18, all eyes are on quarterback Matthew Stafford. A victory would push the Rams one step closer to a berth in the 2026 Super Bowl.

At 37, Stafford is delivering one of the strongest performances of his career and is firmly in MVP conversations. While fans tune in to watch him lead the Rams, many are also curious about the family cheering him on from the sidelines—his wife, Kelly Stafford, and their four daughters.

A College Romance

Matthew and Kelly’s story began long before the NFL. The two met in 2006 while attending the University of Georgia. At the time, Kelly was a cheerleader for the Bulldogs, and Matthew was the team’s starting quarterback. Their relationship blossomed during their college years, and their love for Georgia football never faded. Anyone who follows Kelly on social media has likely seen how proudly she and the girls continue to support the Bulldogs.

Parents to Four Daughters

The Staffords are parents to four young girls. They share twin daughters, Chandler and Sawyer, who are 8 years old, along with Hunter, 7, and Tyler, 5. Family life plays a huge role in both Matthew and Kelly’s world, and the girls are often seen supporting their dad at games.

Kelly’s Health Journey

In 2019, Kelly faced a major health scare after doctors discovered a tumor pressing against her cranial nerves, which had been causing severe dizziness. She underwent an intense 12-hour surgery to remove the tumor, which was later confirmed to be noncancerous.

In an essay she wrote for ESPN, Kelly recalled the moment she first realized something was wrong. After getting a massage in Michigan, she felt disoriented and light-headed, as though everything around her was spinning. Further testing revealed she had an acoustic neuroma, also known as a vestibular schwannoma.

Kelly openly shared her fears at the time, explaining that her greatest concern was not being there for her daughters. She wrote that embracing her girls after the diagnosis strengthened her determination to stay positive and push forward rather than focus on worst-case scenarios.

Throughout the ordeal, Matthew remained a constant source of support. Kelly credited him for standing by her side through every stage of the process.

Thankfully, Kelly made a full recovery, and today the Stafford family continues to thrive—on and off the field.
