Kelly and Matthew Stafford turned the NFL Honors into a true family moment, arriving with all four of their daughters for the star-studded evening.
The couple stepped onto the red carpet at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco on Thursday, February 6, hand in hand with their children, making it clear this night was about more than just football accolades. The NFL’s official X account even shared a clip of the family’s arrival, writing, “The whole Stafford family is here 🥹.”
Kelly, 36, looked elegant in a sleek black gown, wearing her blonde hair pulled back, while Matthew, 37, dressed sharply for the ceremony where he ultimately claimed the Associated Press NFL MVP honor. Still, it was their daughters—8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7-year-old Hunter, and 5-year-old Tyler—who drew the most attention, dressed alike as they confidently walked the carpet.
Before accepting his award, the Los Angeles Rams quarterback spoke with NFL.com and explained that bringing his family along didn’t require much thought. “There really wasn’t any debate—we were all going,” he said, adding that since the girls had attended nearly every game this season, it felt only right for them to share in the moment.
Matthew also joked that part of the reason he brought his wife and daughters was to shift the spotlight away from himself. “That was kind of the idea,” he laughed. “I’m not big on attention, so let them take it.” He quickly added that having them there meant everything, noting how excited they were to be included.
Reflecting on his MVP nomination, Matthew described the experience as deeply meaningful. He shared his admiration for past and present players and emphasized how grateful he feels to be part of the league, calling the recognition both special and humbling.
Earlier that day, Kelly gave fans a glimpse of the family’s journey to the event, posting photos to her Instagram Story, including a shot from inside a private jet. Just a day earlier, she had also shared a heartfelt message praising her husband and the season they experienced together.
“This was my favorite football year—not just because of how well he played,” she wrote. “This team, this organization, and the families involved made it feel different in the best way.” While she admitted the season’s ending was disappointing, she described it as the most enjoyable year she’s had, crediting the strong bond among the women off the field and Matthew’s happiness with his teammates and coaches.
Matthew and Kelly’s story began years ago at the University of Georgia, where he played college football and she was a cheerleader. What started there has since grown into a family that now shares moments on some of the NFL’s biggest stages.
