Maxx Crosby speaks out on trade speculation, delivering bad news for Bears, Lions and Patriots

Trade speculation surrounding Raiders star edge rusher Maxx Crosby has been swirling, with teams like the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and New England Patriots often mentioned as potential suitors. But those hoping Las Vegas might be willing to part ways with Crosby were dealt discouraging news on Friday.

The rumors gained momentum earlier in the week after FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer suggested Crosby may have already played his last game as a Raider. That comment immediately fueled league-wide chatter about a possible blockbuster move involving the five-time Pro Bowler.

Crosby addressed the speculation himself during an appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd, and his comments didn’t exactly signal an imminent departure from Las Vegas. Notably, he conducted the interview at the Raiders’ facility while wearing team apparel—hardly the look of someone preparing to exit.

“Now that I’m quiet, people start making bold claims for me,” Crosby said. “They assume I told someone something I never did. I honestly just laugh, because I know my truth. I go to bed happy and don’t feel the need to explain myself to anyone.”

He continued by emphasizing how little attention he pays to outside narratives. “All the talk is news to me,” Crosby said. “No matter what you say, someone’s going to twist it. I focus on my actions and let others say whatever they want.”

While Crosby’s remarks don’t completely rule out the possibility of a trade, they do make it far less likely. Despite years of instability and limited success for the Raiders, Crosby has consistently expressed his desire to spend his entire career in Las Vegas.

Unless Crosby were to actively push for a move, the Raiders have little incentive to trade away the face of their defense. Based on his latest comments, the 28-year-old appears fully committed to remaining with the franchise for the foreseeable future.
