Brittany Mahomes Gets Emotional Watching Matthew Stafford’s Heartfelt NFL Message

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes were absent from the NFL Honors this year, following a challenging season for the Kansas City Chiefs. Unlike previous years, the celebrated NFL couple had no reason to attend.

Patrick Mahomes, a two-time AP Most Valuable Player, was not among the nominees this year after the Chiefs finished with a disappointing 6-11 record, missing the playoffs for the first time since he became the team’s starting quarterback in his second season.

This year, the MVP award went to Matthew Stafford of the Los Angeles Rams, who earned the honor for the first time in his 17-year career. The 37-year-old quarterback led the Rams to a 12-5 record, completing 388 of 597 passes (65%) and leading the league with 4,707 passing yards, 276.9 yards per game, and 46 touchdowns.

When Stafford accepted the award, he shared the stage with his four daughters, highlighting the inspiration he draws from his family. The NFL also shared a video featuring a congratulatory message from Stafford’s daughters, praising him not just for his football achievements but also for being a devoted father. Stafford became visibly emotional watching the clip.

Brittany Mahomes was moved by the video as well. Reacting to the NFL’s post that read, “@matthewstafford is an MVP, but he’s always been a dad first 🥲,” she shared her emotions openly, tagging Stafford’s wife, Kelly, and commenting, “Okay crying omg😭😭😭😭.”

As a mother of three—Sterling (5), Bronze (3), and Golden (1)—Brittany understands the demands of parenting while supporting a high-profile NFL career. She and Patrick know the balance the Staffords maintain between family and football.

While Patrick Mahomes did not receive MVP honors this season, Brittany clearly celebrated Stafford’s achievement, appreciating both his professional success and dedication to his family.
