Early on trade deadline day, the Detroit Lions set the tone for deals around the league by acquiring defensive end Za’Darius Smith and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns.
In exchange, the Browns received a 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick from Detroit.

Due to the 2023 Denzel Mims trade with the Jets, the Lions did not lose or gain a pick because Mims failed to make their roster, negating the conditional picks.
