Early on trade deadline day, the Detroit Lions set the tone for deals around the league by acquiring defensive end Za’Darius Smith and a 2026 seventh-round pick from the Cleveland Browns.

In exchange, the Browns received a 2025 fifth-round pick and a 2026 sixth-round pick from Detroit.

Naturally, the Smith trade affects the Lions’ future draft capital, so here’s an overview of their upcoming draft picks.

The Lions’ 2025 fourth-round pick from the Eagles in the D’Andre Swift trade was returned to Philadelphia in their move up to draft running back Sione Vaki this year.

Due to the 2023 Denzel Mims trade with the Jets, the Lions did not lose or gain a pick because Mims failed to make their roster, negating the conditional picks.
