Micah Parsons took aim at Daniel Jones and the New York Giants after Saquon Barkley’s dominant performance on Thursday Night Football.

Barkley, now with the Eagles, continued his outstanding season by rushing for 146 yards and two touchdowns.

Following the game, Parsons joined others on social media in criticizing the Giants for losing Barkley in the offseason, making a pointed remark about the situation. In a viral post, the Cowboys’ star linebacker wrote:

“All jokes aside, the Giants almost made us believe Saquon wasn’t HIM anymore!! That really says a lot!!

Daniel Jones was paid over Saquon! He was worth more to their franchise!! This really says a lot!!”

Parsons’ comments come at a difficult time for the Giants, who are struggling with a 3-6 record and sit 13th in the NFC.

The loss of quarterback Dak Prescott for the season adds to the team’s woes, while the Washington Commanders currently hold the seventh playoff spot at 7-4.

Despite these challenges, Parsons’ shot at Jones has added an extra layer of drama to the upcoming Cowboys-Giants Thanksgiving Day matchup.

Jones, who signed a four-year, $160 million contract extension, has had a rough season, throwing just 10 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.

This underperformance has led to criticism, especially in comparison to Barkley’s impact on the field.

While the Giants’ QB secured his contract, Barkley felt disrespected by the Giants’ approach to his own contract negotiations during the previous offseason. Since then, Barkley has proven to be one of the league’s top running backs, competing with Derrick Henry for that title.

Parsons, a former Penn State player like Barkley, has been a divisional rival to the running back throughout their careers. His comments on social media reflect the undervaluation of the running back position in today’s NFL.

Though Parsons and Barkley have been rivals, their shared college background adds a personal layer to this exchange.

The upcoming Cowboys-Giants game on November 28th is now even more intriguing, with the rivalry heating up thanks to Parsons’ comments.

Looking ahead, the Cowboys face a tough stretch, with games against the Houston Texans, Washington Commanders (twice), and Philadelphia Eagles.

They also have challenging matchups with the Cincinnati Bengals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Although Dallas still has a chance at the postseason, a perfect finish may be needed to secure a spot and possibly save head coach Mike McCarthy’s job.
