Dallas Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones has seen his fair share of struggles over the years, and he says he’s experienced worse situations than the one his team is facing now.
The Cowboys, under head coach Mike McCarthy, are currently 3-7 for the 2024 season, having lost five consecutive games. Injuries have plagued the team, with quarterback Dak Prescott and safety Markquese Bell both lost to season-ending surgeries.
Additionally, star pass rusher Micah Parsons has been dealing with injuries, and overall, the team has been playing subpar football.
In a statement following the Cowboys’ latest defeat — a 34-10 loss to the Houston Texans on Monday Night Football — Jones reflected on the team’s struggles, noting that he has been around long enough to witness difficult seasons. “We won one game my first year.
One. So, yes, we’ve had rough seasons before,” Jones said, according to ESPN. “And we’ve had tough years in the past.
We didn’t expect this record, and we didn’t anticipate this level of play right now. But that’s just how it goes sometimes when you’ve been in the league long enough.”
