Serena Williams’ spouse, Alexis Ohanian, gives a quick reaction to Commanders QB Jayden Daniels throwing a cheeky jab at a Lions star while swapping jerseys.
Alexis Ohanian, husband of Serena Williams, recently responded to Jayden Daniels’ subtle dig at Detroit Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold after the Washington Commanders’ impressive 45-31 victory over the Lions in the 2024 NFL Playoffs. Daniels had a standout performance, throwing for 299 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 51 yards on 16 carries. During the “Kicking It with Dee” podcast, host Donald De La Haye, known as Deestroying, mentioned that the 24-year-old Commanders quarterback aimed a playful jab at Arnold during their post-game jersey exchange.
“What’s funny is, I’m cool with Terrion Arnold, he’s a DB for the Lions, and he told me he swapped jerseys with Jayden Daniels after the game. And on the bottom of the jersey, Jayden wrote: Cancun on 3-1,2,3. Then they swapped,” De La Haye shared. The term “Cancun,” referring to the vacation destination in Mexico, is often used to mock teams or players eliminated from the playoffs, suggesting their season is over. The phrase originated from former NBA player Nick Van Exel during the 1998 Conference Finals.
Serena Williams’ husband, Ohanian, a committed Washington Commanders fan, reacted to the incident by tweeting: “That’s my QB 😆”
The Commanders have now secured a spot in Sunday’s NFC Championship Game, where they will face the Philadelphia Eagles, who advanced after a 28-22 win against the Los Angeles Rams.
In another post, Ohanian shared a photo of a wall he helped his father build, featuring Washington Commanders memorabilia. The wall included a jersey of the late Sean Taylor, and Ohanian mentioned having additional collectibles for his dad.
“This is a wall in the man cave I helped build my dad in his home… I’ve got more collectibles on the way for him…” he wrote.
The Reddit co-founder has frequently shared his thoughts on the Commanders’ season and took pride in accurately predicting the success of both the team and wide receiver Terry McLaurin.
