FRISCO – Micah Parsons has a plan, and if you believe in the drawing power of the Dallas Cowboys, it could work, unless Jayden Daniels derails it. Parsons has spoken with Cowboys owner Jerry Jones to voice his desire for a “change” in the team’s approach to roster construction, especially through free agency. To back up his commitment, the star defender has even publicly offered to take less money in his upcoming contract to help the cause. Dallas can create up to $100 million in cap space, but every little bit helps—although they may still not be able to top what Daniels could achieve this spring as the emerging leader of the up-and-coming Washington Commanders.
Will the skill and charm that helped Daniels lead Washington to an incredible turnaround during his 2024 rookie season help him once again when it comes to attracting free agents this offseason?
It’s about to be seen if Daniels’ appeal will extend to other players. Set to win NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, Daniels plays for a Washington team with $90 million in cap space. Mike Florio of PFT predicted this week, “I think Jayden Daniels’ performance over the season, especially in the postseason, will draw players with options. If everything’s equal, they’ll want to play for the Commanders.” Florio is making an educated guess, but one thing is clear: Dallas has long been viewed as “The Big Stage,” but their flashy reputation has led to little success, and Micah Parsons wants to change that. However, he now faces competition from Daniels.
