Arizona Cardinals

The Cardinals have hired Winston DeLattiboudere III from the University of Minnesota to be their new defensive line coach.

Winston DeLattiboudere played alongside Nick Rallis for the Gophers in 2016.

Over the weekend, the Arizona Cardinals made moves in the college ranks by hiring Justin Frye from Ohio State as their new OL coach, and Winston DeLattiboudere III from Minnesota as their new DL coach.

Cardinals’ connection: Winston DeLattiboudere and Nick Rallis were teammates at Minnesota in 2016.

Here is his bio (per the Minnesota Gophers website):

Describing Winston DeLattiboudere’s rise in coaching as fast would be an understatement.

According to Sports Illustrated’s Nolan O’Hara:

DeLattiboudere just wrapped up his second season with the Gophers but has been climbing the coaching ranks quickly. Hired in 2023 as the defensive line coach and newcomer coordinator, he earned a promotion to assistant head coach after the season. The Gophers saw a significant improvement in sacks during his first year, registering 26, up from 2022’s total of 19. The sack count rose to 28 this season.

DeLattiboudere, a Minnesota alum, graduated in 2018 after five seasons with the Gophers football team, four of which were under current head coach P.J. Fleck. He recorded 83 tackles, 13.5 for loss, and five sacks during his time at the U.

Before joining Minnesota’s coaching staff, DeLattiboudere was a graduate assistant at Charlotte in 2020 and Oregon in 2021. He then spent 2022 as Akron’s defensive line coach before taking the same role with Minnesota the following year. Now, he’s taking the next step in his career, moving to the NFL as a coach with the Cardinals.
