When Carson Beck, former quarterback for Georgia, announced his decision to enter the transfer portal, it came as a surprise to many. The surprise grew even more when Beck quickly signed with the Miami Hurricanes to finish out his college career.

However, from the moment he revealed his decision to head to Coral Gables, the criticism began. Numerous experts have dismissed Beck, claiming he doesn’t belong in the Top 10 players returning to college football next season. Others continue to question his performance, especially after Georgia’s disappointing performance in 2024.

Wait, what? Beck played a crucial role in leading his team to the SEC championship. Yes, his performance was a bit inconsistent in ’24, and he didn’t contend for the Heisman, but that doesn’t diminish his potential to shine under Mario Cristobal’s leadership. On3’s J.D. PicKell has strong thoughts on the matter:

**Carson Beck is poised for a big season at Miami in 2025**

After watching that clip, it’s easy to see why PicKell believes in Beck’s potential. Let’s not ignore the struggles of UGA’s wide receivers, whose issues with catching passes were near impossible to overlook all season. Beck consistently delivered accurate throws, only to see them dropped by his receivers.

That won’t be a problem in Miami. The Hurricanes’ wideouts are ready to make a big impact and support Beck. Though Beck won’t be heavily involved during spring ball, he will be fully prepared for fall camp.

By August, Beck will be all-in on building chemistry with his new receiving corps, including LSU transfer C.J. Daniels, and getting back into his rhythm as a passer. Beck will look to make a statement in Week 1 against Notre Dame. The critics will be watching, but Beck is ready to shut them down for good.
