Angelina Jolie expresses deep emotions about daughter Shiloh in a rare discussion about her family.
Angelina Jolie has shared a rare insight about her children, specifically her 18-year-old daughter, Shiloh.
Throughout their upbringing, images of Jolie’s six children—whom she co-parents with former husband Brad Pitt—frequently appeared on the covers of international newspapers and magazines.
The couple’s eldest, Maddox, now 23, was adopted from Cambodia, followed by his younger brother Pax, now 21, who was adopted from Vietnam, and their sister Zahara, now 19, who was adopted from Ethiopia.
During their 12-year relationship, Jolie and Pitt also had three biological children—daughter Shiloh and twins Knox and Vivienne, who are now 16.
Given their well-known parents, many might expect them to follow a path in the film industry. However, Jolie has shared that this doesn’t appear to be the case.
She shared that her children do not have the same attraction to fame as she does, particularly her middle daughter.
“No. I don’t know, that’s not because of me,” she explained (via PEOPLE). “I always wanted them to be exposed to film because it’s such a wonderful community—to be creative, to be an artist. But they’re just not interested.”
Jolie went on to say, “They really dislike the celebrity aspect of it, especially Shiloh—she absolutely hates it.”
Reflecting further on fame, she added, “I think it’s actually very healthy that they don’t. It’s not a normal thing—it’s quite a ridiculous thing, really.”
