Guard Kevin Zeitler Signs One-Year, $9 Million Deal with Titans After Lone Season with Lions
The Detroit Lions have lost a key piece of their offensive line from the 2024 season.
Offensive guard Kevin Zeitler, who joined Detroit on a one-year deal before the 2024 season, is heading to the Tennessee Titans on a one-year, $9 million contract, according to multiple reports.
For now, 2024 sixth-round pick Christian Mahogany seems to be next on the depth chart. As a rookie, Mahogany started two games, including the Divisional Round loss to Washington.
Zeitler started 16 games for the Lions last season but missed the Divisional Round against Washington due to an injury sustained in the regular season finale. He earned an overall PFF offensive grade of 86.8 in 2024, with an 87.2 grade as a run blocker.
Throughout his career, Zeitler has been one of the league’s most durable linemen, playing at least 12 games in each of his 13 NFL seasons. Since 2015, he has started at least 15 games every year.
The veteran lineman played for four teams before Detroit. He was a first-round pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2012 NFL Draft, spending five seasons there before signing with the Cleveland Browns in 2017.
After two years in Cleveland, he was traded to the New York Giants for Olivier Vernon. Zeitler played two seasons in New York before being released, then signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2021. Following three years in Baltimore, he joined the Lions for the 2024 season.
