Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats are preparing for Troy in the opening round of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

In his first season as head coach, Pope led the Cats to March Madness, despite a fiercely competitive SEC basketball season.

While the team focuses on a busy week, the coaching staff is also looking ahead to the future, with a notable player entering the transfer portal for next season.

Nevada forward Nick Davidson has announced his entry into the portal, drawing attention from numerous schools, including Kentucky, according to On3’s Joe Tipton.

The 6-foot-10, 238-pound junior posted averages of 15.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 2.8 assists last season. A key aspect of Davidson’s game is his 37% three-point shooting, a trait that fits well with Mark Pope’s offensive style.

Davidson has also been contacted by prestigious programs like North Carolina, Louisville, St. John’s, Texas Tech, and several others, indicating his high level of talent.

With so many options to consider for next season, Nick Davidson will have a tough decision, but Kentucky, led by Mark Pope, could be an attractive choice for the standout forward.
