Detroit Lions Bring in Former Raiders CB to Team Up with Amik Robertson

The Las Vegas Raiders have struggled over the years to retain talented players. Notable names like Davante Adams, Josh Jacobs, and Khalil Mack have left, forcing Raider Nation to watch them excel with other teams.

However, the Raiders have also lost several key role players who impacted the team, including Rock Ya-Sin. Despite performing well in an injury-shortened 2022 season, Las Vegas chose not to re-sign him, and their secondary suffered as a result.

Although Ya-Sin hasn’t become a star elsewhere, he continues to find a spot on NFL rosters. On Thursday, NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Ya-Sin was signing with the Detroit Lions, reuniting him with former Raiders teammate Amik Robertson.

In 2022, Ya-Sin appeared in nine games for Las Vegas, recording 45 tackles and defending seven passes. He initially played his first three NFL seasons with the Indianapolis Colts, who drafted him in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

While injuries have kept him from completing a full season, Ya-Sin managed to play 14 and 13 games over the past two years with the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers. Now, he’ll be part of a young, energetic Detroit secondary under a new defensive coordinator following Aaron Glenn’s departure.
