Former UNC standout Caleb Love is poised to add to the list of painful memories for Duke fans everywhere. During a postgame interview, Love confidently stated, “We’ll be ready for them.” He briefly paused before speaking, with many North Carolina and Arizona supporters thinking he was about to say something more about Duke, but he quickly corrected himself.

This shows Love’s growth, but we can say it for him—he certainly knows the Blue Devils well and would relish the opportunity to end their season in the Sweet Sixteen. Right now, the focus is on how Cooper Flagg and the ACC champions are gearing up for a title run, but Love isn’t about to let that happen without a fight.

Has it already been three years? Indeed, Love’s iconic 3-pointer against Duke, while playing for Hubert Davis, helped North Carolina pull off a stunning upset. Now, Love has another chance to send Duke packing. While we’d love to see him do it in a Tar Heels uniform, it seems many of us will be cheering for Arizona on Thursday night.
