Josie Gilvin, WKU Transfer, Pledges to Kentucky

Going into his second season with the Kentucky Wildcats, Kenny Brooks has officially made his first move of the offseason, bringing in Western Kentucky transfer Josie Gilvin.

The Louisville native averaged 13.1 points, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game this past season at WKU. The rising senior was stellar from beyond the arc, tallying a 41.3 3-point percentage this past season.

Gilvin stands at 6 feet and brings some much-needed experience to Lexington, having played in nearly 100 college games and starting all 32 games in 2024-25.

Gilvin totaled 672 points in three seasons for the Tops and dropped 10 points against the Cats back in December.

The former Hilltopper was tabbed to the 2024-25 All-Conference USA Second Team and C-USA All-Defensive Team as well.

Although she may not be a starter next season, Gilvin will be a much-needed addition to Kenny Brooks’ backcourt in Lexington.

She brings size and is a threat from deep, which are two important things for Brooks.
