Kevin Hart launched Season 11 of his Cold As Balls YouTube talk show on the LOL! Network with fan-favorite Detroit Lions wide receiver
Amon-Ra St. Brown. During their icy sit-down, the NFL standout opened up to Hart, revealing that he didn’t initially want to play for the city that now fully supports him.
In the April 8 season opener, the two reflected on St. Brown’s 2021 draft experience.
Hart pointed out that St. Brown was a fourth-round pick and asked how he felt about it.“I was pissed,” St. Brown responded.
When asked if he was excited to be heading to Detroit, St. Brown admitted, “No, I was not … at the time I was like ‘F*** I’m going to Detroit.’”
The wide receiver’s early hesitation stemmed from the fact that, starting in 2018, the Lions had ended each season with a losing record and consistently placed last in the NFC North. So back then, there wasn’t much to be “excited” about. However, the California native made it clear he now “loves” Detroit.
St. Brown reaffirmed his love for the Motor City after a game last season, telling the press: “I love it (that Detroit rides with me). I mean, Detroit going to ride for Detroit all the time. That’s what I love about the city. You come at Detroit, they’re going to come eat you.”
