Hours before the transfer portal closes, BYU got another returnee for next season as forward Brody Kozlowski announced his return to BYU.
Kozlowski appeared in 9 games for BYU this season, scoring all 8 of his points in a blowout win over Florida A&M. Brody is expected to receive a medical redshirt due to missing most of the season due to injury, meaning he will be a redshirt freshman this coming season.
Brody was Kevin Young’s first recruiting win last offseason, getting a commitment from the Corner Canyon Star after he decommited from USC. A 4-star recruit out of high school, Brody has a chance to work into the rotation this coming season. At 6-foot-7, Brody is a knockdown shooter, strong rebounder, and underrated passer. He was 2-3 from three in that game versus FAMU, giving a brief look into his shooting ability.
BYU will have a final four caliber roster this upcoming season, and Brody gives BYU additional continuity. If he hits shots like he’s capable of, I think he will find himself as part of the rotation as a stretch four or spot up shooter on the wing. Brody’s time to workout with the team was limited last offseason as he dealt with a separate injury, and a full offseason should allow him to have a nice jump before the season gets started in November.
