Conference reveals All-Tournament team

LUBBOCK, Texas – Following their victory in the Big 12 Tournament on Sunday, the conference announced the All-Tournament team members on Wednesday afternoon, selected by women’s tennis head coaches.

The five Lady Raiders who received All-Tournament honors are Yekaterina Dmitrichenko, Jermine Sherif, Mariia Hlahola, Avelina Sayfetdinova, and Hailey Murphy.

Dmitrichenko was the only player to earn recognition in both singles and doubles, being named to the All-Tournament Team for court two singles and court two doubles. Joining Dmitrichenko in doubles recognition is Murphy. The pair went undefeated at 3-0 in doubles, defeating teams from No. 39 Kansas, No. 21 Baylor, and No. 22 UCF. In singles, Dmitrichenko also went 2-0, winning both matches in straight sets. She triumphed over Baylor’s Cristina Tiglea, 6-4, 6-0, and UCF’s Aya El Aouni, 6-4, 6-4, clinching the championship with the latter win.

Sherif earned a spot on the All-Tournament team for her performance at court six singles. She finished the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record, defeating Kansas’ Anna Putilina, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4; Baylor’s Nanaka Sato, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2; and UCF’s Hannah Rylatt, 6-2, 6-2. The duo of Hlahola and Sayfetdinova went 2-1 at court one doubles to earn All-Tournament honors. They secured two notable ranked wins, first against No. 31 Liubov Kostenko and Tiglea from Baylor, 6-4, and then against No. 41 Olivia Lincer and Rylatt from UCF, 6-2, securing vital doubles points.

Currently ranked No. 13, Texas Tech boasts a 22-2 record on the season and will learn their opponent for the NCAA Tournament next Monday at 4 p.m. on ncaa.com.
