The Detroit Lions feature several confident defenders, but perhaps none with the swagger of safety Kerby Joseph.
Joseph is among the league’s top trash talkers, but his talk is backed up by production. Since entering the NFL in 2021, he has totaled 247 tackles and 17 interceptions, proving to be a game-changer.
This year, Joseph is aiming even higher. In the past, he’s gotten the best of stars like Aaron Rodgers. Now, his mission is to target every quarterback the Lions face in 2025.
Appearing on “The Rich Eisen Show,” Joseph was asked about his personal goals for the new season. He didn’t hold back—saying he plans to intercept every quarterback and add more multi-pick games to his résumé.
“All of them. All 17. And I’ll have a couple of multi-interception games too. I’ve done it every year I’ve played—I’ve had at least two picks in one game.”
Joseph has a knack for highlight plays, so doubting his ability to make NFL history may not be wise. With a new contract extension, he’s aiming to take his impact to an even greater level.
With the 2025 schedule set to be revealed, the Lions will soon know the timing and location of their games. Joseph had a few playful wishes for the schedule, which he shared with Eisen. Mainly, get the cold games out of the way early.
“All the cold cities—we can knock them out early. Baltimore. Who else? Philly, line them up. Green Bay? Let’s do that early. Chicago? I’m good with that. Cincinnati’s not too bad. And let’s make the Commanders game a cold one. I’ve got college teammates on that team—they know how I roll.”
Ultimately, Joseph knows the Lions can perform in any weather or setting. Still, he wouldn’t mind avoiding the deep-freeze games if possible.
A natural with quotable moments, Joseph has big plans for 2025. No matter when or where Detroit lines up, he’ll be chasing greatness all year long
