Kelly Stafford, the spouse of former Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford, opened up about her personal marijuana use on a recent episode of her podcast.
During this week’s “Morning After” podcast, Stafford explained why cannabis gummies have become her go-to aid in managing life with her four daughters.
“Gummies are amazing,” Stafford shared. “Sometimes I honestly think they make me a more patient parent. They help me relax. It’s just like sipping a glass of wine.”
Guest Kit Hoover chimed in, saying that for her, gummies offer the same effect as a glass of “patience.”
Stafford admitted to feeling a bit ashamed for turning to marijuana as a way to ease the day-to-day stress of running her busy home.
“Thanks for saying that,” Stafford responded. “I do feel a little ashamed. And it’s not something I do every evening. But there are days when I’m like, ‘Damn, this day’s been rough. I don’t want to lose it, so I’ll just take a little gummy.’”
The former top overall draft pick by Detroit in 2009 spent 12 seasons there before asking to be dealt following the 2020 campaign.
Sadly, his years in Detroit were marked by frustrations and poor seasons. Stafford had three playoff games but didn’t win any of them.
He tied the knot with his wife in 2015 and captured a Super Bowl title with the Los Angeles Rams in his first season after leaving Detroit.
