Kelly Stafford recently confessed that she tried to give herself a Brazilian wax — and deeply regrets the decision.
The podcast host called the experience “awful” and claimed she’s “never experienced pain that intense.”
In an effort to cut down on beauty expenses, Stafford attempted to do the waxing herself.
Kelly Stafford is now letting professionals handle certain beauty routines.
“I’m going to be honest with y’all. Maybe three weeks ago, I attempted to wax my own vagina,” she said on the episode.
Despite the disaster, Stafford mentioned she’s no stranger to waxing. “I used to get it done regularly, before kids and when I had more free time. It’s amazing. Truly nothing beats a clean wax.”
The NFL wife, married to Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, figured she could handle the full Brazilian — a process that removes hair from the labia and surrounding region — on her own due to her past experiences.
“Truthfully, it was terrible,” she admitted. “That pain was unreal.” Stafford also noted she did it completely sober, joking that she “should’ve had an edible first.”
Attempting a complete Brazilian wax — which she later called “one of the worst decisions I’ve made in ages” — proved so difficult that she couldn’t finish the job.
“I managed the front part,” she said. “Got a few strips done, but then I was frozen. Sat there for 20 minutes trying to rip one off, counting down from 3, but couldn’t do it. I kept asking myself how else I could remove it.”
Even though she’s married to a high-earning NFL player, Kelly said her DIY waxing attempt came down to being cost-conscious.
“A waxing kit from Amazon costs about 20 dollars,” she explained. “Way cheaper than driving to a salon and paying $50. I was just trying to be smart with money.”
Kelly has spoken openly about her self-care in past Morning After episodes. In one from May 26, she interviewed plastic surgeon Dr. Garth Fisher about her post-baby body procedures.
She shared that in 2021 — a year after having her fourth daughter — she went to Dr. Fisher for what’s known as a “mommy makeover,” which can include breast work, a tummy tuck, and abdominal repair.
“I had my breasts redone, you did my tummy tuck, and fixed my abdominal separation,” she said to Fisher — who also reportedly performed Kylie Jenner’s breast surgery — during their conversation.
“You want to still feel desirable,” she said of the makeover. “After kids, you often don’t feel like yourself. I got to a point where I was done having kids and just wanted to feel like me again.
