Alexander Isak may get transfer boost through PSG

A new chance has emerged for Alexander Isak to secure his long-desired move away from Newcastle United. This follows drastic measures he has taken to push for a transfer.

Liverpool’s chase has stalled, with their league rivals refusing to lower their £150 million ($203.5 million) asking price.

Isak’s exit hopes have been blocked by Newcastle’s failure to land priority signings and replacements. Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, and Joao Pedro have slipped away, leaving him uncertain just three days before their season opener against Aston Villa.

Ironically, it is Saturday’s opponents who might have unintentionally helped the Swedish forward edge closer to a move.

Villa are currently targeting the return of Marco Asensio from PSG. The Spanish attacker made 21 appearances on loan under Unai Emery last season, scoring eight goals.

To fund that transfer, the club is in talks to sell Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle, with the deal potentially being completed this week.

As an academy graduate, Ramsey’s sale would also aid Villa’s Financial Fair Play position. Although the 24-year-old is not a striker, he would strengthen Newcastle’s attacking depth.

This signing could clear the path for Isak’s exit, as Newcastle would have enough firepower to cope with his departure. The 25-year-old has stated he will not play for the club again and may now press harder for his move.

Liverpool have until 7 pm on September 1 to finalise terms. The two sides meet in what could be a heated clash at St James’ Park on Monday, August 25.

It remains possible that Isak could wear the red shirt against his current team. The Reds have yet to increase their first bid of £110m plus add-ons but have raised further funds from the sales of Darwin Nunez and Tyler Morton.
