Liverpool Planning Another Approach For Newcastle United Striker Isak: Perfect Fit For Slot?

In a fresh discussion with Football Insider, ex-scout Mike Brown revealed that Liverpool are preparing another approach for Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak this summer. Brown explained, *“Newcastle won’t be held to ransom.

“They don’t want Isak leaving, but if he keeps forcing the issue and refusing to play, then I think they’ll eventually agree to sell.

“I’ve heard Liverpool will submit another bid since they remain determined to land him.

“That new proposal will likely exceed £120million, which appears to be Newcastle’s minimum valuation.

“They already went as high as £110million without success and everyone knows the circumstances, but a deal makes sense for all sides.

“If Liverpool table that improved bid, I believe it stands a better chance of going through.

“From Liverpool’s side, they feel optimistic as the player himself is eager for the switch.

“With a bigger fee, Newcastle might decide it’s better to cash in if he refuses to settle and stay put.”

Isak delivered a strong campaign for the Magpies recently, impressing in the final third with consistent attacking contributions. The Swede registered 27 goals and six assists across 42 outings for Newcastle last term in all competitions.

The 25-year-old averaged 3.1 attempts per 90 minutes in league action. He hit the target with 43.2% of those efforts. Isak also showed efficiency in possession, recording a passing accuracy of 75.3% in the Premier League (figures via fbref.com).

Isak excels at creating space for attempts at goal. He is a clinical finisher when chances come his way, though he still needs to sharpen his overall link-up play in attack.

The Swedish forward is also capable of carrying the ball dangerously into advanced areas. Having already showcased his quality in England, he would certainly strengthen Liverpool’s frontline if signed this summer.

Isak would inject added firepower into Arne Slot’s offensive unit. He has the ability to cement himself as a starter at Anfield. Moreover, Isak could play a major role in Liverpool’s hunt for silverware in the coming seasons. As such, he represents a dream addition for the Reds in this transfer window.
