Former NFL Legend and 4-All-Pro Rob Gronkowski Drop Honest Truth Bomb on Detroit Lions going into 2025 Season

The Detroit Lions entered the 2024 NFL postseason looking like the league’s top contender. After storming through the regular season with an impressive 15-2 record, expectations were sky-high for a potential championship run.

But instead of chasing the Lombardi Trophy, their campaign ended in shocking fashion. The Lions were eliminated in their very first playoff matchup, falling to the Washington Commanders in an upset that still stings months later.

As the 2025 season approaches, opinions around Detroit are split. Some analysts believe Dan Campbell’s squad will pick up right where they left off in the regular season, while others doubt the team’s ability to rebound after such a crushing playoff loss.

One notable voice, however, is firmly in Detroit’s corner—future Hall of Fame tight end Rob Gronkowski.

Appearing on the Up & Adams show, Gronkowski didn’t mince words. He predicted that the Lions will not only contend but finish the job this time.

“I think the Detroit Lions pull it off,” Gronkowski declared, confidently naming them his pick to win the Super Bowl.

There’s plenty of reason for optimism. Campbell has established himself as one of the premier coaches in the NFL, and the roster remains stacked on both sides of the ball.

The team will need to adjust after losing both offensive coordinator Ben Johnson and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, who each landed head coaching gigs this offseason. Still, the Lions have the talent to weather those changes.

Quarterback Jared Goff is coming off a stellar campaign and has an arsenal of weapons, including Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams, Jahmyr Gibbs, and David Montgomery. The offensive line continues to be one of the more reliable units in football.

Defensively, star pass rusher Aidan Hutchinson returns healthy after suffering a broken leg last season. Behind him, Detroit boasts a playmaking secondary and a strong group of linebackers.

With depth, leadership, and top-tier talent across the board, Detroit appears well-positioned to chase a championship once again. Whether they can put last year’s heartbreak behind them remains to be seen—but Gronkowski is betting big on the Lions to deliver.
