Tanuvasa’s debut quarterback hit in royal blue came on a 3rd-&-11 play for Stanford, forcing the Cardinal to punt on the next down.
Tanuvasa now owns five career sacks. He registered one tackle against Portland State in his first game at BYU.
The Cougar offense has battled inconsistency versus Stanford. While the defense has shined, BYU’s lone touchdown came with a missed two-point try. Two field goals and a safety give the Cougars a 14-0 advantage.
About BYU’s Keanu Tanuvasa
At Mission Viejo High School in California, Tanuvasa earned all-league honors twice.
As a senior, he posted 40 total tackles, including 12 for loss and five sacks.
Tanuvasa originally signed with Utah, redshirting during the 2022 campaign.
He went on to start all 13 contests in 2023, landing CFN Freshman All-America honorable mention with 27 tackles, six for loss, and two sacks.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound force claimed All-Big 12 honorable mention with Utah in 2024, despite injuries limiting him to seven outings. He logged 17 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and four breakups.
