Injury Updates Across NFL: Penning, Thomas, Seattle Seahawks, and Monday Night Football Coverage

The Saints have been hit with several offensive line injuries this week. In his debut season with New Orleans, guard Dillon Radunz has been filling in for projected starter Trevor Penning, who has been sidelined since the preseason with turf toe.

According to Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football, Radunz has now been declared out while dealing with a toe injury himself. Penning, however, could be available to reclaim a starting role.

The fourth-year lineman hasn’t appeared yet in 2025, but he practiced Wednesday, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell.

Previously the Saints’ right tackle, Penning was set to move inside as first-round rookie Kelvin Banks locked down left tackle, shifting last year’s first-round rookie Taliese Fuaga over to the right side.

Penning practiced in limited fashion the rest of the week and carries a questionable tag, but with Radunz sidelined, he may be pressed into making his season debut.

Fuaga is questionable as well, despite missing the entire week of practice with knee and back problems. Joining Radunz on the out list is defensive end Chase Young, who, like Penning, has yet to play this season.

Here are several other injury notes from across the league: Giants left tackle Andrew Thomas still hasn’t suited up in 2025 while recovering from a 2024 Lisfranc injury.

The veteran is listed as questionable this week, with rumors suggesting he may return. He could play even if not fully back. Per Ryan Dunleavy of the New York Post, Thomas hasn’t “dismissed the idea of rotating as he ramps up” to protect long-term health.

The team will evaluate him today before deciding tomorrow, according to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, but the rotational plan seems to be gaining momentum.

The Seahawks picked up injuries this week to running back Zach Charbonnet, cornerback Devon Witherspoon, and safety Julian Love.

Though there was concern all could face extended absences, The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar notes none are expected for injured reserve. Still, all three are doubtful for Week 3 action.

After tight end Isaiah Likely sustained a camp foot injury, the Ravens avoided placing him on injured lists to prevent a mandatory four-week absence.

The 25-year-old returned to practice but won’t suit up Monday. A Week 4 return is the target. Defensive tackle Nnamdi Madubuike will also sit, per Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic.

He’s managing a neck issue, and the team is being cautious with symptoms observed this week. Rookie Aeneas Peebles, a sixth-rounder, should see more snaps as a result.

For the Lions, their Monday Night Football matchup will be without pass rusher Marcus Davenport, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. Davenport wouldn’t share details about his injury, though his arm has been spotted in a sling. Regardless, head coach Dan Campbell does not believe it is season-ending.
