Jahmyr Gibbs and the Detroit Lions are preparing to clash with the Cleveland Browns this weekend. Detroit opened the 2025 NFL season with a rough loss to the Green Bay Packers, but has since bounced back. Heading into this matchup, the Lions come off a victory over the Ravens, while the Browns enter following a win against Green Bay.
The Lions are determined to improve on this season after last year’s run ended in the divisional round. Quarterback Jared Goff leads the way, already tallying seven touchdown passes through the early stretch of the campaign.
Jahmyr Gibbs’ Lions Report Illegal Hits on Aidan Hutchinson to NFL
Meanwhile, Gibbs’ teammate, star defensive end Aidan Hutchinson, has apparently been subjected to repeated low hits in the season’s first two games — actions that could be deemed illegal. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Lions have sent game footage to the league office highlighting dangerous shots Hutchinson endured against the Packers and Bears.
“If you look back at his play over those first two outings, the biggest takeaway is how frequently opponents have been going after his legs. It’s reached the point where Detroit flagged it for the NFL,” Schefter revealed. “In the opener alone, Green Bay repeatedly attacked Hutchinson low.”
Hutchinson already has a history of significant injuries, including a fractured tibia from last season. With that in mind, opponents taking aim at his legs now represents a troubling new level of foul play from teams like the Packers and Bears.
