Bayern training update: Guerreiro, Stanišić doubtful for Borussia Dortmund showdown.
According to Bild (as reported by @iMiaSanMia), Bayern Munich defender Raphaël Guerreiro is doubtful for this weekend’s clash against Borussia Dortmund in Der Klassiker.
Guerreiro has missed team training all week, working only on individual drills indoors. He returned to the pitch this morning but continued to train alone. The Portuguese fullback appeared to gesture toward his right thigh several times and frequently stretched that area. His availability for Saturday’s fixture remains highly uncertain.
Stanišić likely sidelined as wellPer Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Josip Stanišić has also not rejoined full team sessions and is unlikely to feature against Borussia Dortmund this weekend.
The Croatian defender continued solo training on the field today and hasn’t yet resumed group activities. His return for Der Klassiker appears doubtful.
Davies nearing return to action
According to Bild (via @iMiaSanMia), Alphonso Davies is showing “major progress” in recovery, and his reintroduction to team practice is expected soon.
Davies has been steadily improving during rehab, and a comeback to team training now seems close. That’s encouraging news for Bayern, though the coaching staff will likely ease him back carefully as he works to rebuild strength and confidence in his healed knee. Once fully fit, the Canadian could again be a key spark in Bayern’s already potent attack.
After the recent international break, Bayern Munich returns to Bundesliga play — and there’s no better restart than Der Klassiker against Borussia Dortmund.
This promises to be exciting.
