Is Lions’ Jameson Williams upset about his limited opportunities? Here’s what the receiver had to say

So far, Williams has hauled in 17 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns. Still, he isn’t expressing frustration with his smaller role. Throughout the season, Williams expects his production to keep rising, according to Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

“I wasn’t overthinking it as long as we’re winning games,” Williams said. “I can’t let myself get too bothered about targets or touches. I know they’ll come; it’s a long season. We’re headed for the playoffs, so I knew things like that would happen.”

Williams has discussed his progress with offensive coordinator John Morton and appears fully aligned with Detroit’s approach. He also praised former Lions quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for teaching him how to stay focused even when not the main option on offense.

Though he hasn’t had his breakout moment yet in 2025, Williams remains a dangerous deep threat. His best game came in Week 2 against the Chicago Bears, when he recorded two catches for 108 yards and a touchdown.

The Lions understand the talent they have in Williams, which is why they extended him for $83 million. He’s confident the catches will come and continues to prepare for when his number is called.
