The 2025 Detroit Lions have continued to perform well this season despite losing both coordinators from last year. Their offense remains loaded with talent, but wide receiver Jameson Williams has yet to play a major role, leaving fans and fantasy football managers wanting more. Still, Detroit seems ready to change that, even as Williams insists his only goal is helping the team win.
Offensive coordinator Joe Morton admitted to ESPN that the Lions’ offense has “failed” Jameson Williams in terms of usage and opportunity. The young receiver went without a single catch in their last game against the Buccaneers — his first game this season without a reception — and was targeted only twice in the contest.
Through eight games, Williams has totaled 17 receptions for 289 yards and two touchdowns, surpassing 45 yards in just two outings. “I’ve reviewed everything, and I’ll do a better job getting him more involved,” Morton said. “There have been chances where it just didn’t work out, but it’s not like we aren’t trying to get him the ball. That’s the biggest thing.”
