Magician Stuns Detroit Lions Players Jared Goff and Jahmyr Gibbs With Incredible Illusions
The Detroit Lions are famous for pulling off jaw-dropping “trick” plays that leave opponents guessing how they pulled it off. But this time, a few of the team’s stars found themselves on the receiving end of the tricks — courtesy of a professional illusionist.
In a video released Thursday, Oz the Mentalist — whose real name is Oz Pearlman — visited several Lions players, including quarterback Jared Goff, running back Jahmyr Gibbs, and wide receivers Amon-Ra St. Brown and Tim Patrick. The exact date of the filming isn’t clear, since Patrick was traded by Detroit in August.
The clip captures Pearlman performing several mind-bending acts that left the group stunned. At one point, he asks St. Brown to think of someone from his childhood and somehow guesses the person’s name correctly. When St. Brown then imagines a random location, Pearlman astonishingly names it too.
That’s when Gibbs, clearly shaken, blurts out, “Nah, I don’t like that,” as the other players react with disbelief and laughter.
The magician doesn’t stop there — he follows up with more impressive illusions, including one involving Gibbs’ cell phone and another where players shout out random NFL names before Pearlman pulls off an impossible reveal.
The performance wraps up with a visit to the Miami Dolphins, where Pearlman performs one last team-wide trick that gets the entire locker room cheering.
A native of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Pearlman attended the University of Michigan before gaining national fame on “America’s Got Talent”, where he placed third in Season 10.
