Channeling his team owner Michael Jordan, Tyler Reddick had a sort of “flu game” last night in the Southern 500.
It seemed like the NASCAR driver had messed up all over himself at one point during the race. Tyler Reddick was in a precarious situation during the race at Darlington.
His crew was giving him medicine and snacks to calm his stomach because he thought he was about to get sick. He was questioned on the radio once if he was concerned about being physically ill.
Reddick admitted to being concerned when he said he was “throwing up” and “sh***ing” himself.
Speaking on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio today, Reddick said, “Well, I wasn’t going to by choice park it.
I was worried that when Stage 1 finally ended, I was having to focus more on having to hold back puke than driving the car and I was just worried I was going to start puking and not be able to drive and crash and end my way that way, just by crashing.”
“Because, well, I dunno. To be honest, I’ve never been able to, but what about those who have puked?
I was just concerned that my day would end that way because I think it’s difficult to throw up and do anything else at the same time.
After I was fighting that, I believe the radio became a little confused. Reddick said that following the race on Sunday, he had a difficult night. He was in excruciating pain and his body continued to seize up until the early morning. Sounds like dehydration, but given the circumstances, it might be a lot of other conditions. Crew members defend Tyler Reddick from himself Fortunately, it was only confusion. On social media, jokes and memes abound. On Sunday, though, Tyler Reddick managed to keep every drop of fluid inside his body. Reddick went on, “I think I told them I was going to need something or I was going to be doing both.”

Reddick went on, “I think I told them I was going to need something or I was going to be doing both.”
“I believe there was misunderstanding because I was already doing both. It was, god, it was difficult, man.
I mean, within five minutes of saying that, if I didn’t get something in my stomach to calm it down, I wouldn’t be surprised if I started doing both.
I simply detest it since that’s one of my finest songs, and I was too preoccupied with trying to keep whatever was in my stomach down to actually perform my driving duties. It was just bad. What a brave performance Reddick gave.
All things considered, this was one of the night’s better performances. P10 for nearly soiling himself—that’s a commendable accomplishment.
Tyler Reddick lost some ground toward the end of the race. Physically, it was difficult to determine if it was his car or him.
Reddick defeated Larson by one point to win the regular season title when the checkered flag flew.
