Montgomery breaks free for a 35-yard score to put Detroit up 17–6

David Montgomery broke loose for a 35-yard touchdown run on a second-and-10, extending Detroit’s lead to 17–6 with 4:27 left before halftime.

The Lions started the possession near midfield after Jack Campbell knocked the ball out of Jake Ferguson’s hands and Brian Branch scooped it up at the Detroit 47.

Despite opening the series with back-to-back penalties — a hold on Dan Skipper followed by a Tate Ratledge false start — Detroit managed to dig out of a first-and-25 hole. Jameson Williams helped flip the situation by hauling in a 25-yard pass from Jared Goff to move the chains.

Goff is now 10-of-16 for 122 yards. Jahmyr Gibbs has been a key target, making four receptions for 45 yards and scoring Detroit’s earlier touchdown on a 1-yard run.
