Amon-Ra St. Brown Shares Comments After Breaking Major NFL Record

Detroit Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown continues to cement his place among the NFL’s elite.

During the Lions’ Week 14 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, St. Brown officially etched his name into the NFL record book, becoming the player with the most receptions through his first five NFL seasons.

Amon-Ra St. Brown Sets NFL Record vs. Cowboys

With a six-catch performance against Dallas, St. Brown reached 511 career receptions, surpassing former New Orleans Saints star Michael Thomas, who previously held the record with 510 catches. The milestone came in St. Brown’s fifth NFL season and further highlights his remarkable consistency since entering the league.

Selected in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, St. Brown has quickly developed into one of the league’s most reliable wide receivers and a cornerstone of Detroit’s offense.

St. Brown Reacts to Historic Achievement

Despite the record-setting moment, St. Brown remained humble and credited those around him for his success.

“To me, it’s humbling. I couldn’t do it without the guys around me — my teammates, Jared (Goff), Coach Campbell, Scottie (Montgomery), the coaches, this whole building,” St. Brown told FOX 2.

“If you told me when I was drafted that I’d break this record in five years, there’s no way I would believe you. It’s an amazing feeling, but I’m not done yet.”

More History for the Lions Star

St. Brown reached 500 career receptions just two weeks earlier against the New York Giants, doing so in 77 games, the second-fewest games in NFL history to reach that mark.

Through his first five seasons, the former USC standout has:

  • Earned two First-Team All-Pro selections
  • Made three Pro Bowl appearances
  • Established himself as one of the NFL’s hardest workers and most dependable targets

Closing in on Another Milestone Season

Entering Week 15 against the Los Angeles Rams, St. Brown has:

  • 81 receptions
  • 976 receiving yards

He is on pace for a fourth consecutive season with 100+ catches and 1,000+ receiving yards, an achievement that further solidifies his elite status.

Bigger Goals Ahead for St. Brown, Lions

While the individual accolades continue to pile up, St. Brown remains focused on team success.

“I feel like there’s still more to do — for me and for us as a team,” St. Brown said. “Our goals are much bigger. We’ve got the right guys and the right coaches to get this done.”

As the Lions push toward the postseason and beyond, Amon-Ra St. Brown’s record-breaking season is yet another sign that Detroit’s star receiver is just getting started.
