The Detroit Lions are monitoring a knee injury to star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown following Sunday’s 29–24 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, taking a cautious, wait-and-see approach as the team prepares for a critical Week 17 matchup.
St. Brown was listed as a non-participant on Monday’s estimated practice report, though the injury was not apparent at the conclusion of Sunday’s game. Lions head coach Dan Campbell said the team is still determining the severity.
“We’ll know more a little bit later,” Campbell said Monday. “This is just something that popped up when he came in today. Hopefully it’s just some irritation from the game. That’s what I’m hoping, but I’ll know more tonight.”
Despite the injury, St. Brown played the entire game against Pittsburgh, finishing with four receptions for 54 yards. He was heavily involved in the final moments, catching a potential go-ahead touchdown that was wiped out by an offensive pass interference call on Isaac TeSlaa. On the final play, St. Brown lateraled the ball to Jared Goff after a reception, creating a would-be game-tying score that was ultimately nullified by another offensive pass interference penalty—this time on St. Brown himself—ending the game after a brief officials’ review.
