Kelly Stafford Calls Out the “Ridiculous” Process of Accessing NFL Playoff Tickets

Even as the wife of the Los Angeles Rams’ starting quarterback, Kelly Stafford says attending NFL games isn’t always as seamless as one might expect. After the Rams edged out the Chicago Bears 20–17 in the Divisional Round of the playoffs on Sunday, January 18, Kelly shared her frustration over the hoops she had to jump through just to enter Soldier Field.

Posting on her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, January 20, Kelly criticized the league’s ticketing process, specifically the requirement to download the home team’s mobile app to access game tickets.

“Honestly… having to download every opposing team’s app just to get into a stadium is getting pretty ridiculous,” she wrote.

Her post included a screenshot of her phone, revealing the Chicago Bears’ official app installed solely for ticket access. The image also showed more than 100 missed calls—likely a result of the high-stress playoff matchup that ultimately sent the Rams to the NFC Championship Game.

Kelly’s phone wallpaper featured a touching family moment: Matthew Stafford hugging their four daughters—8-year-old twins Sawyer and Chandler, 7-year-old Hunter, and 5-year-old Tyler—after a recent game.

Throughout the season, Kelly and the girls have regularly attended Rams games, including the frigid playoff matchup in Chicago. Following the win, Kelly echoed the emotional toll of postseason football.

“Does anyone else feel like these games are taking years off your life?” she joked in another Instagram post.

With speculation swirling about Matthew Stafford’s future in the NFL—and rumors that he could consider retirement after a standout, MVP-level season—Kelly has made it a priority to have their family present for as many games as possible.

“Year 17 of the regular season is officially done,” she shared on Instagram on January 7. “I never imagined I’d attend every game or bring my daughters to 15 out of 17, but I’m so thankful I did. Watching this season unfold in person was unforgettable.”

She went on to describe the impact football has had on their daughters, noting how it inspired them to appreciate dedication, resilience, and hard work—so much so that all four now want to play quarterback on a girls’ flag football team.

“Seeing their dad stumble, learn, and push forward has taught them that failure is okay—and that how you respond matters most,” Kelly added. “I feel incredibly lucky to watch the man I love do what he loves, alongside the girls I love most. Now it’s on to the playoffs.”

In a separate reflective post looking ahead to 2025, Kelly emphasized the importance of standing by Matthew as they face the future together.

“Some people might not understand, but I need my husband,” she wrote. “The life and family we’re building weren’t meant to be carried alone. I bring the warmth and heart of our home; he brings the strength—the long hours, sacrifices, and protection that make our joy possible.”

Next up, Matthew Stafford, the Rams, and their ever-present family support system head to Seattle, where Los Angeles will take on the Seahawks in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday, January 25.
