An eye-opening trade rumor involving the Las Vegas Raiders could quickly grab the attention of the San Francisco 49ers, Buffalo Bills, and Detroit Lions as the NFL offseason approaches.
FOX Sports insider Jay Glazer reported that elite pass rusher Maxx Crosby may be nearing the end of his run in Las Vegas. Glazer believes the Raiders are likely to move on from their defensive cornerstone, with a trade potentially happening before the NFL Draft in April and Crosby expected to be with a new team by the 2026 season.
Speaking on Yahoo Sports Daily, Glazer described mounting frustration from Crosby, suggesting the situation reached a breaking point late in the 2025 season.
“Maxx was furious,” Glazer said. “He felt like the team gave up on him, shut him down, and he wanted no part of it. He walked out and made it clear he was done and wanted out. I tried to calm him down, but the frustration was real.”
Crosby’s dissatisfaction has reportedly been building for some time due to the Raiders’ ongoing struggles. Tensions peaked when Las Vegas chose to sideline him for the final two games of the season, a move Crosby strongly disagreed with and reacted to by leaving the team facility.
With the likelihood of a trade increasing, several contenders could be expected to aggressively pursue the five-time Pro Bowler. Among them, Buffalo appears to be a particularly strong fit.
The Bills are widely viewed as close to true Super Bowl contention, and adding a dominant edge defender could be the missing ingredient. Pairing Crosby with quarterback Josh Allen’s prime years would signal Buffalo’s intent to go all-in on a championship run.
While Buffalo stands out, San Francisco and Detroit should not be overlooked. Both teams already boast elite pass rushers—Nick Bosa for the 49ers and Aidan Hutchinson for the Lions—but adding Crosby could create one of the most feared defensive fronts in the league.
Although Crosby’s eventual destination remains uncertain, all signs point toward his time with the Raiders ending sooner than many expected. Buffalo may be the cleanest fit, but teams like the 49ers and Lions are almost certain to explore the possibility as well.
