Trade speculation surrounding Las Vegas Raiders star Maxx Crosby has taken over the NFL news cycle, and naturally, Detroit Lions fans have zeroed in on one potential landing spot: Detroit.
On Wednesday, Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson addressed the rumors directly while appearing on “Up & Adams” with Kay Adams. When asked about the possibility of playing alongside Crosby, Hutchinson didn’t shy away from the topic — and his response only fueled the buzz.
“It just sounds right,” Hutchinson said, via Lions OnSI. “I was actually looking that up on the way over here. I was hearing some rumblings about it. I don’t know. In the event that it did happen, that would be so dangerous. Me and Maxx have a great relationship. I would love to play with him.”
For a franchise cornerstone like Hutchinson, that’s about as strong of an endorsement as possible.
Hutchinson and Crosby Already Share Mutual Respect
Hutchinson made it clear his interest isn’t just based on talent — there’s already a personal connection between the two Pro Bowl edge rushers.
“We see each other every now and then. We will DM every now and then,” Hutchinson explained. “We both have a lot of respect for each other’s games.”
That relationship adds fuel to the speculation and shows this pairing isn’t just fan-driven fantasy. There’s already chemistry between the two stars.
Trade to Detroit Remains Unlikely
Despite his enthusiasm, Hutchinson also acknowledged the reality of the NFL business side.
“Is the likelihood of him coming to Detroit high? No,” Hutchinson said. “Just given with the amount of guys they have to pay.”
Crosby’s contract, the Raiders’ salary cap situation, and Detroit’s own upcoming extensions make a blockbuster trade difficult. While intriguing, the idea remains more theoretical than probable.
Still, Hutchinson didn’t rule it out entirely.
“In a dream world, though, it sounds really good, it sounds right, which I am all for.”
Why Maxx Crosby to the Lions Rumors Keep Growing
Even if no trade happens, the speculation highlights something important about the Lions’ status around the league: Detroit is now viewed as a destination franchise.
With Hutchinson emerging as one of the NFL’s elite pass rushers and the Lions continuing to contend in the NFC, the idea of pairing him with Crosby isn’t far-fetched from a talent perspective.
If nothing else, Hutchinson’s comments confirm what many fans already believe — a Hutchinson-Crosby duo would be devastating for opposing quarterbacks and one of the most feared pass-rushing tandems in the NFL.
