Detroit Lions Coach Dan Campbell: No Long-Term Concerns for Amon-Ra St. Brown’s Injury
The Detroit Lions suffered a tough 20-16 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, leaving many fans disappointed. Some speculate that the Lions might be feeling the pressure from the Super Bowl hype surrounding them.
However, one of the more alarming moments of the game occurred late when star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went down in visible pain.
On the Lions’ final drive, St. Brown caught a 9-yard pass over the middle with just 30 seconds left on the clock. After making the catch, he remained on the ground in discomfort. Trainers quickly attended to him, and he was helped off the field.
As the Lions’ medical staff worked on him, St. Brown stayed on the sidelines and received treatment while the offense struggled to find momentum for the remaining six plays. Unfortunately, Detroit’s offense couldn’t capitalize, and the game ended with a turnover on downs.
Despite the scare, head coach Dan Campbell provided some reassurance following the game. According to the Detroit Free Press, Campbell downplayed the severity of St. Brown’s injury, saying there was no long-term concern. “He’s alright,” Campbell stated. “I don’t think it is anything long-term, so that’s good news.”
While the loss was disappointing, especially with the injury scare to one of their key players, the Lions can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that St. Brown’s injury doesn’t seem to be serious.
