Despite missing the playoffs during the 2025 season, fans of the Detroit Lions can still feel confident about the future of the team’s offense.
Detroit continues to rely on one of the league’s most dangerous offensive combinations featuring quarterback Jared Goff, star wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, and explosive running back Jahmyr Gibbs.
Heading into the 2026 season, Detroit hopes to reclaim the NFC North crown from the rival Chicago Bears while also returning to the postseason for the first time since 2023. The ultimate goal remains the same — delivering the franchise’s first Super Bowl title to the city of Detroit.
Amon-Ra St. Brown Names the Lions’ Worst Driver
During a recent interview with CrunchTime Sports, St. Brown was asked a lighthearted question about his teammates: Who is the worst driver on the team?
After thinking about it for a moment, the Lions wideout didn’t hesitate to name Gibbs.
“Oh, um, I mean, look — I’ve driven in a car with a few of them… Imma go Jahmyr,” St. Brown said. “It’s like some iffy decisions he’s made while driving with him.”
The playful response gave fans a glimpse into the fun chemistry shared inside Detroit’s locker room.
St. Brown Talks Favorite Cars
While discussing driving, St. Brown admitted he wasn’t always passionate about cars growing up. However, his perspective has changed over time.
“ That’s a good question, I never really grew up a car guy,” he said. “Now that I’m a little bit older, Porsches are pretty cool.”
His German Roots and the Autobahn
St. Brown’s background also plays a role in his fascination with driving. His mother, Miriam, is originally from Leverkusen, Germany, which allows the Lions star to hold dual citizenship in both the United States and Germany. He is also fluent in German.
Because of his heritage, the famous German Autobahn highway system still fascinates him.
“So you know, I’m half German, and in Germany they have the Autobahn, which you can go as fast as you want on the freeway,” St. Brown said. “But there are certain rules — like you can’t pass someone on the right side. You have to overtake on the left side, which makes sense. It’s kind of lit.”
Music St. Brown Listens to While Driving
When it comes to music during his drives, St. Brown says he has been listening to the latest releases from Canadian pop superstar Justin Bieber.
“I would say I’ve recently been into Justin Bieber’s ‘SWAG I’ and ‘SWAG II’ albums,” he said.
St. Brown Approves of Lions’ 2026 Draft Pick
Beyond the fun stories, St. Brown also shared his excitement about the Lions’ moves in the 2026 NFL Draft.
He specifically praised Detroit’s selection of offensive tackle Blake Miller, believing the rookie brings the toughness the team needs up front.
“They got a tackle that they feel like is a dog,” St. Brown said. “I saw some of his highlights. He looks great — big dude. I feel like you draft off potential and what they can be. Blake is exactly what we needed — a tackle with that mean streak in him.”
According to St. Brown, Miller’s physical style and finishing ability could make him a valuable piece of Detroit’s offensive line moving forward.
