Devastating Reports Emerge About Lions’ QB Jared Goff

The Detroit Lions stand at 1-1 after two games in 2024. They celebrated an exciting home victory against the Los Angeles Rams but followed it up with a disappointing home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The week two defeat was especially frustrating for Detroit, as they felt it was a game they should have won, especially since they had beaten the Buccaneers just a few months earlier in the 2023-24 playoffs.

As week three approaches, quarterback Jared Goff is already facing multiple troubling reports.

According to John Whiticar of The Pride of Detroit:

How worried should you be about Jared Goff?

My response: Somewhat concerned.

Despite online speculation, turning to Hendon Hooker is not a realistic option. However, there are valid reasons to be concerned about Goff’s performance so far. Goff excels as a rhythm passer.

He performs best when the offense is in sync, which results in elite passing. When neither Goff nor the offense is clicking, it leads to significant struggles.

This was evident against the Buccaneers. Goff was inaccurate and rarely targeted receivers more than 20 yards downfield, a poor combination for any passing game. His decision-making was questionable, leading to an interception and several near-misses.

Although he faced some pressure, it was not overwhelming. He appeared rattled and failed to find his rhythm, which negatively impacted the entire offense.

It is surprising to see “benching” rumors circulating just two games after the Lions were a game away from the Super Bowl.
