Nikola Jokic recorded his 25th triple-double of the season as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Atlanta Hawks 142-110, moving them to the top of the Western Conference standings.
Jokic had 19 points, 14 rebounds, and 11 assists, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope added 24 points for the Nuggets. Jamal Murray returned from injury and scored 16 points.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers secured their ninth win in 10 games by beating the Cleveland Cavaliers 116-97. D’Angelo Russell scored 28 points for the Lakers, while LeBron James and Anthony Davis contributed double-doubles as they climbed to eighth place in the Western Conference.
James had 24 points and 12 assists, and Davis had 22 points and 13 rebounds, including a 19-0 run in the third quarter for the Lakers.
In a different game, Joel Embiid scored 30 points to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 116-96 win against the Memphis Grizzlies. Embiid, who was the NBA MVP last season and recently returned from injury, also grabbed 12 rebounds in 23 minutes of play.
