Jourdan Lewis criticizes George Pickens during an altercation on the field as tensions rise as the Cowboys defeat the Steelers in the closing seconds.

When the Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final touchdown in the final seconds of the game, tensions increased when Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was seen grabbing Cowboys cornerback Jourdan Lewis’ facemask.

The altercation started when Lewis seemed to say something to Pickens, which prompted Pickens to react aggressively. Officials intervened quickly to keep the situation from getting worse.

Jourdan Lewis publicly chastised George Pickens for his actions after the game, calling him “weak” and implying that the Steelers needed a new wide receiver.

Pickens had been targeted seven times, but his on-field performance had been lackluster as he only managed 26 yards on three receptions.

This lack of output stood in stark contrast to Pickens’ self-assurance, which was evident in a message on his eyeblack that read, “open f—ing always.”

Pickens had seven receptions for 113 yards in a defeat to the Indianapolis Colts the week before, so his performance against the Cowboys was disappointing.

Nevertheless, Pickens has not yet scored a touchdown this season in spite of these glimpses of promise.

His limited playing time—just 34 snaps—during the game against the Cowboys prompted concerns because it was the first time he has played fewer than 60% of the team’s snaps.

In order to improve overall production, the decision was made to manage Pickens’ reps, according to Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin.

In light of their receiving corps’ difficulties, rumors have claimed that the Steelers have been looking for ways to strengthen their roster.

Brandon Aiyuk of the San Francisco 49ers was reportedly a target of theirs before, but a trade fell through.

The Steelers are reportedly considering making an aggressive offer to acquire Las Vegas Raiders star Davante Adams, who has reportedly requested a trade.

Despite his struggles this season, George Pickens, who is in his third season since being drafted out of Georgia, is still a key member of the team.

Last season, he led the NFL in yards per reception, amassing 1,140 yards on just 63 catches with five touchdowns.

His talent is undeniable, but given his recent struggles, the Steelers may be looking to add a veteran receiver to bolster their offense.
